Sangeetha Anantharaman is the Finance Manager at Tvarana, overseeing finance and accounts for India and US operations, and providing accounting expertise wherever required. Her responsibilities include running payroll for Tvarana India and US offices, managing India statutory compliances and US tax laws, working with auditors during audits and finalization of company accounts. Sangeetha was an integral part of the development and launch of Tvarana’s latest SuiteApp, PeopleHub, which is a HR Payroll and Employee Self-Serve solution for NetSuite. Along with HR and Development teams, Sangeetha was closely involved in the ideation, implementation and accounts integration of PeopleHub, as well as with ongoing improvements to the SuiteApp. She also works with the Tvarana development team to improve and incorporate customizations into the NetSuite accounting module, and recently conducted a webinar on NetSuite Budgeting for India prospects. Additionally, Sangeetha is working on a big India accounting and tax implementation project for advertising giant, M&C Saatchi.
Sangeetha moved from her hometown in Kerala to Hyderabad after getting married. She had left her previous engagement when she relocated, and had been on the lookout for a new job. She attended a number of interviews but declined the offers due to long commutes or irregular timings. She had applied for a job at Tvarana when she first moved, but there was no opening at the time, and a few years passed before the Director of Finance reached out to her. She interviewed at Tvarana in 2018 and got the job, but was concerned about how she would be able to balance work and home life. With the support of her family and the team at Tvarana, Sangeetha has been able to put her fears to rest and flourish at her job. Working with Tvarana has helped her grow not just in confidence, but also in her knowledge of accounts. Sangeetha, through her work with US-based CPAs and payroll agencies, has also learned a great deal about US state tax laws. She values the work she does at Tvarana, and feels a sense of contentment.
Sangeetha is an avid traveller, and enjoys exploring different cultures, cuisines and people. She especially enjoys visiting places of natural beauty, in particular North Sikkim and Kashmir. She also hopes to explore more of her home state, Kerala- popularly known as ‘God’s Own Country’, which is known for its lagoons, beaches, mountains and waterfalls. She enjoys traditional Indian Carnatic classical music, and has attended a number of concerts during the festival of Navratri. Two concerts in particular that stand out are by Prince Rama Varma in Kerala and a violin performance by Balabhaskar. In her spare time, Sangeetha enjoys watching shows like Penn & Teller: Fool Us, sitcoms in her native language, Malayalam, and The Office. She also keeps up with her family traditions of celebrating festivals like Navratri and Bomma Golu, which are big social occasions involving get-togethers and cultural programs in their local temple.
Tvarana values your contributions, Sangeetha! We look forward to seeing you continue to shine in the years to come!
